Did anybody else eat way too much food over Thanksgiving like I did? Last year, I was sooo sick during the holidays while being pregnant that I could hardly look at any of the food, much less eat it. But, this year, I have started out the holiday season filling my stomach with tons of good food! Dumplings, sweet potatoes, Grandpa's chocolate cake, and so much more was consumed when we went home to Dothan last week for Thanksgiving. Besides eating, we also got to spend some quality time with family & friends. For some, this was their first time to meet the girls and it was so much fun making those memories!
My sweet friend, Susanne, got to love on Maralee!!!!
I am so glad that our girls are sisters and will forever have a friend!!!!!

Being thankful for our health was the theme for Thanksgiving this year. Recently, we have had some family members and friends that have battled health problems and it just puts things into perspective. Not to mention our sweet girls' battle during their three month stay in the NICU!!! So often, we think that we are super men & women and we don't need to take care of ourselves. Focusing on living healthy lives will help us to continue to make many precious memories with our families and friends. Above all else, we should thank God for our health because "He will bring health and healing to it; He will heal His people and will let us enjoy abundant peace and security." (Jeremiah 33:6)
Paw Paw Simms loves that Maralee's middle name is Simms!!!!
The girls started their Thanksgiving Day by watching the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade on t.v. I have always loved watching the parade and the Rockettes remain my favorite group!!!!
This year, we spent Thanksgiving with my side of the family. We are so fortunate to have both families in the same town so everybody can see us when we come home for the holidays. It just makes things easy!!!!
After we ate Thanksgiving lunch, we headed back to my parents house to take naps and rest before we ate again! I made these turkey onesies for the girls to wear that evening...they were so much fun to applique!
Our weekend ended with us watching the Iron Bowl at Raleigh's parents house. It was a tense game but Auburn won!!!! War Eagle!!!!!
Till next time, let your light shine!
