From the beginning, they've had to fight an uphill battle.

Through God's will, their fighting spirits, and our determination, they have looked prematurity square in the eye and have said, "You will not be a long-term obstacle."

You, prematurity, will be a reflection...a mirror that shows us where we started and how far we've come.

You will remind us time and time again of our purpose in life: to love, to laugh, to discover.

As they tackle new adventures in life, one thing will always remain: their sisterhood.

A bond that can never be broken.

So quickly, life has changed.  Once tiny infants have grown into toddlers.  Days of isolation, beeping monitors, and sterile environments have been replaced with friends, music, and dance.  Fragile bones have become strong enough to withstand the bumps and bruises of  active toddler years.  At one point, these babies could barely drink from mother's milk. Now they drain a gallon of milk weekly.  Such tiny frames have grown so.

In the near future, two candles will be blown out.  Those candles represent more than cake and ice cream; they represent two girls that are living, breathing, and taking in life.  Two lives that shine brightly and give hope for the future.

I am so thankful to be a witness of their ride.

Till next time, let your light shine!
