*Do you listen to the desires of your heart and live from your God-given passions, or do you serve from a sense of duty and obligation?

In Chapter Eight of A Confident Heart, Renee challenges us to spend time asking ourselves what God designed us to do and be.  She asks, "What would you do if neither time nor money was an issue?"

On page 144 she goes on to say, "God created your unique heart, and He intends to lead you to the focus of your ministry through your desires and passions.  So many needs cry for our attention both inside and outside our homes and churches.  We are bombarded with options.  It can be overwhelming to choose one thing to invest our time and energy in.  But just as a target is designed to narrow the aim of an arrow, God uses the desires of our hearts to narrow the focus of where He wants our lives to make a mark for eternity.

Renee offers a graph of different types of personalities in this chapter which I always love to see.  When I was scanning through the lists, I noticed that my personality fit into more than one category.  If you would like to take a test to see what your own spiritual gifts are, click here.

Friends, we only have this one life to live.  God uniquely designed us so we could specifically use our gifts for His kingdom.  She had one quote in this chapter that said God designed our hearts like a magnet so we would be attracted to areas that compliment our special gifting.  Listen to where your heart is guiding you.  Pray that you follow God's will and receive the desires of your heart.
