[dropcap]D[/dropcap]oes anybody else still feel like they are recovering from Easter? Have you found yourself putting decorations away, telling yourself that just one more jellybean is okay to eat, and tripping over Easter gifts that you gave your youngsters? It always amazes me how much effort goes into holidays - before and after. We look forward to the upcoming day and spend so much time preparing and planning and then it comes and everyone is in a tizzy and then you eat and then you finally sit down to nap and are so, so, grateful that the day is finally ending. Whew!
That is how I feel every holiday.
I thought it would be different this year but it wasn't. For the first time, we decided to spend Easter in Montgomery instead of Dothan. We have never spent any holiday away from our families but after Easter last year, we agreed that our lives might be a little less stressful if we didn't have so many obligations.
We had a week packed with Easter festivities and we were just as pooped on Easter afternoon as we were last year. I did get a little homesick too but was SO THANKFUL to have such GREAT FRIENDS to celebrate with. Without them, I don't think I would have been brave enough to spend Easter away from our families. I am glad that Raleigh and I spent it together with friends and got to experience worship at our church on a holiday. Raleigh participated in a shocking skit and I got chill bumps watching. Here is a clip of it (they didn't record the sound which really makes it come to life but it is still very impactful).
Here is some of the fun we had Easter week:

It was such a surreal moment to place those Easter dresses over their tiny heads. Raleigh was going to do it without me and I made him stop because I told him that this was as close to a wedding dress as I would get for many years. They fit perfectly and I just loved the color against their skin. We tried getting some pictures without the snack cups but the girls were very adamant about keeping them. I am so glad that we are getting professional pictures taken in these dresses because we were so rushed on Easter morning. I totally forgot to take a picture of them with their baskets...oops! Here are some pictures that I did manage to take:
All in all, it was a great Easter. I was a proud momma and was so very thankful that I finished their dresses in time. And, most importantly, that we were able to rejoice in Christ.
Till next time, let your light shine!
