[dropcap]W[/dropcap]elcome to 31 Days of Living Life Out Loud! I apologize for getting such a late start on today's post, but I needed to play catch up this afternoon from my trip to Chicago. Catch up on my sleep, that is. :) And packing, and family time, and so on and so on. But, here we are on Day 2 of our 31 Day journey and my question for us is this: why should we want to live life out loud?
I'm not going to act like I am the problem-solver to this question. There are thousands of books out there that can give detailed analysis of why we should live our life to the fullest. If you aren't a reader, just listen to a preacher on Sunday morning or a talk show host during the week. There are thousands of solutions for living life to the fullest: eating healthy, exercising, traveling, taking risks....but why?
Why do some people go about the daily grind from 8-5, then order take-out, and sit in front of their television set until bedtime? Or, why do some people get up early to exercise with a personal trainer, then drink energy and protein shakes all day long, and buy expensive clothes that show off their figure in the best way possible? Why do some moms seem to be supermom and others are barely hanging on by a thread? Why do some dads work all day and others can't find a job? Are all of these people trying to live life to the fullest? Is this what living out loud means?
I don't think so. I don't think that the routine of our day should determine how loudly we should be living. To me, living life out loud goes beyond my daily routine, my lifestyle, and my circumstances. Living life out loud is about daring myself to be who God truly created me to be.
Yes, my routine takes part is the sculpture of living my life out loud. But, I don't think it is the final determining factor. Just because someone lives a consistent lifestyle filled with work, family, and home doesn't mean that they can't live life out loud just as much as the guy who travels to Europe to find himself. Living life out loud can happen anywhere. It just comes down to asking ourselves why do we want to?
I want to because I'm ready. I'm tired of living amidst by doubt, insecurity, and tiredness. I'm ready to live life how God created me to live it.
It's as simple as that. As we close today, I'd like to ask you the same question.
