IMG_3447 Last week, we attended Raleigh's cousins' graduation.  His cousins are like his younger brothers and are so excited to be graduating and moving on to college.  At their graduation, I couldn't help but smile as I listened to the valedictorian and salutatorian speeches; how they reminded me so much of what was important during those high school years and what I was looking forward to in the years to come. The season of ending high school and beginning college is a crazy mix of independence, home-sickness, and growth.

Over the course of this summer, I'd like to share some Throwback Thursday posts about life during the teenage and college years.
Will you join me? If you are a teenager or college student, invite your friends to join us too.

I'd like for us to talk about the things you are looking forward to, like your dorm room or football games and formals.  I'd also love for us to chat about what it's going to feel like to leave your bedroom that you grew up in, your dog, and how it feels when you parents say goodbye.  We can't forget about boys. Oh boys!

I don't want to forget about that senior year of high school either.  How you can't believe it's finally here and you can't wait for it to end.  It feels like the last and the beginning all at the same time.

We should especially talk about our relationships.  With our friends, our parents, and the new people we meet.  Oh, and boys (see, they keep coming up!).  Some relationships are going to hurt like hell and make you crazy.  Some are going to make you cry.  Others are going to grow like you never anticipated.  It's a fun but sometimes complex journey, this whole saying goodbye and hello thing.

And, just to keep things lighthearted on this Throwback Thursday, here's a fabulous pic of my college graduation. :)
