Since yesterday was the twins' fourth birthday, I thought it would be fun today to take a look back at their first birthday party. I love the pictures of them eating cake! This weekend we are hosting their party at our house (hint: there will be melted ice!) so I am in full party-mode from now until Sunday. Have a happy Thursday friends!
I could not have asked for a better first birthday for our sweet Adeline and Maralee.
The day was perfect. After the storms last week God graced Saturday with radiant sunshine and a relaxing breeze; perfect for our outdoor party in the park. Raleigh and I headed out to the site early to set up and we ran across a momma duck and her cute little ducklings. What a precious and humorous way for us to start our day!
Soon, eleven o'clock rolled around and it was time to party. Our family and a close group of friends gathered around to wish our little girls a very happy birthday. Adeline and Maralee were in a great mood and we had such a nice time hanging our loved ones. Our photographer, Mark Broadway, came to capture the party...we will post his pictures once we get them but here is a little peek at the fun we had that day:
We sang "Happy Birthday" twice...I hope with each birthday that they realize that we are so grateful for them individually, not just as twins. They decided to go ahead and start sampling their cakes :)
"Mom, I LOVE birthday cake!"
Earlier that day on the way to the site, I got a little teary-eyed realizing that today our girls were one year old. Thank you God for these amazing little miracles!!!! Once the party rolled around, I just had fun in the present and was very amused with the girls while they sampled their first birthday cakes!!!!
Not all of our friends and family could be with us that day, but here are some of the cuties that helped make our first birthday so much fun:
Our NICU buddy, Ben
To our friends that have journeyed this road with us....THANK YOU for your love and support! We are so grateful for all of you and what you mean to us! We love ya from the bottom of our hearts!!!
We were so happy that nurse Kirby could come to the party! She means so much to us; along with all of our other NICU friends!
To our family: Thank you SOOO much for helping me get this party together! Y'all are our number one supporters and we couldn't do it without y'all. We love y'all and are so happy that we got to celebrate this wonderful occasion together!!!!!
Such a good uncle :)
Granddad Price and Gabby
Nan Nan with the girls
I have a lot more pics of the party itself; but I'm gonna save those for some more specific posts. Here is a little peek at what's to come:
Thank you also to everyone that helped us raise money for the March of Dimes! We surpassed our goal, raising over $200! Also, thank you to the party go-ers that helped us raise money for a new Kangaroo Chair for our NICU....we raised over $150!!!!! Giving back to these fine organizations is the least we can do for ALL that they have done for us. My cup truly runneth over.
Till next time, let your light shine!
