Do you ever feel like you are chasing perfection?

Perfection is passion, an ideal that makes us feel so strongly about the matters of our hearts that we act in ways that make us later feel shame and unworthiness, like we will never quite measure up. Passion doesn’t always lead to positive results. How can we pursue perfection without becoming undone?

In Invited, Bible teacher Christen Price weaves together personal stories with a practical party planning handbook as she shares about her own struggle with perfection when she moved home and began to build community. Her desire for perfection causes her to experience anxiety and meltdown when parties (and life!) don’t always go as planned.

With kindness, honesty, and Biblical truth, Christen will encourage you to:

●       Overcome the hurdles of perfection by finding balance instead of breaking down.

●       Receive others in love by releasing your anxieties to God so you can rejoice in the moments worth celebrating.

●       Discover that the antidote to perfection is embracing the beauty of imperfection and present not only yourself, but your home in an artful way so you can give and receive joy.

Celebrations, whether they be special occasions, a surprise party, or a spontaneous cookout on a Saturday night, are about spending time with the people we love. Hospitality helps us to pursue Christ, the author and perfecter of our faith, so we can invite others to join us in a party we will never forget. Connected to Christ, we find wholeness, completeness, and beauty so we can celebrate the life we’ve been given.

A Light for Your Path

illuminate-e-book-word-version-rp-edit-1.jpg

In A Light For Your Path, you will find real stories about living daily life illuminated by Christ.  This book is a declaration of the uncontainable truth and how Jesus, the Light of this world, shines in the darkness. God’s word is illuminating and I like to share how it brightens, reveals, and is made clear here  for truth-seekers just like me.

When we take time out of our busy days to absorb God’s word, we receive clarity through life’s circumstances. Psalm 119:105 simply states, “Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light for my path.” To live this life with the grace we have been given we must walk in the light.

Every day, God takes ordinary people, just like you and me, and makes their lives extraordinary as they follow his will instead of their own plans. He asks us to be a light to others all through scripture. A Light For Your Path guides you how to let your light shine in this world. “You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden. Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.” - Matthew 5:14-16

Living life illuminated by Christ is about trusting deeply, walking faithfully, and shining brightly.

God's Love For Me

Gods-Love-For-Me-Cover.jpg

In 2012, we collaborated with some friends, bloggers, and writers to make God’s Love for Me – his love never quits. God's Love For Me shares stories of how love never fails, always hopes, always perseveres. We were made to love and to share God's love with others. This book is for the moments when you feel alone and need to be reminded that God is with you.

Getting it together

Have you ever felt like the mom you wanted to be was very different from the mom you had become? I have. Maybe like me, you feel altogether not-so-together. You don't have to feel that way anymore. Tucked in these pages are real stories from moms who share from their own lives the messy truth about getting it together.

Overwhelmed

Overwhelmed. It’s where most moms live. Somewhere between the mounting piles of laundry, the overflowing kitchen sink, doctor’s appointments, soccer practice and the pot of spaghetti boiling over on the stove, there is a mom who is at her wit’s end. Perhaps that’s you, sweet mom. Wishing your load was lighter, yet knowing you wouldn’t change it for the world. Feeling like you can’t do the ‘mom’ thing for another second and wishing someone would shoulder the load for just a few short hours. Long enough to get your sleep-deprived self a much needed, uninterrupted nap…long enough to come up for air and catch your breath. That’s what Overwhelmed ~ 31 Stories from M.O.M. is all about. It’s for you, the momma who knows that life is hard and being a mom isn’t easy. Overwhelmed is our gift to you who are in the trenches of motherhood and find yourself feeling weary, worn out and overwhelmed. Each story has been shared to help you find comfort in the fact that you are not alone-to help you discover the courage to press on when you feel like you can’t take another step-and to offer perspective and wisdom that can help you find joy in the journey-to see hope beyond overwhelmed.

Romans Road

Faithful Bloggers is a community for Christian bloggers. Our purpose is to provide a common ground where we can encourage one another to use our blogs for the glory of God.

The topic for the second Faithful Blogger‘s Group Writing Project was about Romans Road. Each blogger selected a verse and wrote a post explaining what that verse means to them. It could be as long or as short as they wanted. It could be a personal testimony, a devotional, or Bible study in nature. The only rule was that it had to be about a verse from Romans Road.
