Monday was the girls' first day of school!  Mother's Morning Out has officially begun and we got off to a semi-good start.  The night before, I tried to be an organized mamma and laid out all of their clothes, fixed their lunches, wrote the check, and labeled everything that I sent with them.  On the morning of MMO, I woke up to my alarm clock and got them finished with breakfast in record speed.  I didn't want us to be late on the first day!  After we got dressed, I took them outside to try to capture the perfect first day of school picture.  This is what I got:

Adeline & Maralee's 1st day of Mother's Morning Out

16 Months, September 12, 2011

Doesn't always turn out the way you plan, right?  They didn't want their bows in their hair, they didn't understand why a book bag was strapped to them, and they desperately wanted the juice that I had already packed for the day.  So, what did I do?  I gave them the juice.

Refreshed, they actually let me snap a few good pics.  I can't believe how big they are!!!!

I monogrammed their book bags.  If you want something monogrammed, e-mail me at

As we arrived at school, we met our friend Mary Harris so we could walk in to class together.

As we approached the farthest room down the hall, we were greeted with screaming babies, which of course made our girls start crying too.  I left Maralee lying on the floor with her sippy cup screaming bloody murder.  Whew, it was a lot harder than dropping them off at the church nursery.  When I came to pick them up, Adeline was playing with the toys in the room and Maralee was propped on Ms. Berta's thigh.  They said that the girls did pretty good for it being their first day of school.  Bless their hearts, they were bone-tired when we got home and went straight to sleep for the rest of the day. :)

Here is a video that I took of their first day.  Oh, the memories!

How was your child's first day of school?  Any advice to get them to not be clingy and upset?  Please share!

Till next time, let your light shine!

Blessings, christen
