Last Thursday, Raleigh and I hosted our small group Christmas party.  I had so much fun spending quality time with such great friends!

We socialized over an Italian feast and then some very yummy desserts.   I made Paula Deen's Chocolate Delight.

I love the presentation that this simple recipe makes at is quite the showstopper!  It was so easy, especially with the help of my Duncan Hines cake mix! The Devil's Food Cake was the perfect mix for this dessert. I did leave out the nuts because Raleigh and I prefer it that way, but I has some in a small dish for others to sprinkle on their dessert if they so desired :) Also, if you were having a smaller dinner party, you could easily layer this dish into some elegant glasses for each guest.  Talk about getting the royal treatment!

When we went to Savannah for New Year's a couple of years ago, Kari Beth and I bought a signed copy of Christmas with Paula Deen cookbook.  I love using it this time of the year!

Mary Frances made a similar dessert but it had coffee and toffee bars in it so guests got to choose which one (or both!) to eat.

And sweet Molly made these yummy oreo and white chocolate bars.  She said she found them on Pinterest and it was no bake!

I think y'all know by now how much I love to entertain.  Here are some pictures of my table decor and mantle.  For my table, I decided to go with a fun Christmas theme:

I bought these Christmas trees at Pier One this year and the rest is stuff I've gotten over time

I had a Christmas-themed wedding shower before I got married and received this beautiful Nativity Scene.  I kept my mantle in simple cremes and browns and hung my crocheted stockings from it.  I was pleased with the classic look:

After our bellies were full, we gathered in the living room for more fellowship.  Molly is having some surgery soon so we decided to do a "Molly's Favorite Things" instead of Secret Santa this year.  Y'all, it was SO FUN to see the surprise on her face.  Thanks Patrick for helping us :)

One thing that I love most about being in a small group is the bond formed between individuals.  I didn't know any of these people before I moved to Montgomery - some are new friends that we've made just this year - but already that friendship is so close because it is in Christ.  I am so thankful to these people in my life and to come together and celebrate the real reason for the season with them.

Thank you JW for taking these pictures!

Hope you enjoyed these recipes!

Till next time, let your light shine!

Blessings, christen
