I've said it a million times, but God has truly blessed us with some great friends here in Montgomery. This past weekend, we had the best time hanging out with some of those friends at the lake. It was a memorable Memorial Day indeed! Friday night, the girls had their first boat ride. They were not fond of their life jackets, but we had a good time taking an early evening cruise. Raleigh and I haven't ridden on a boat since the girls were born. We didn't realize how much we missed it!
Saturday morning, all the girls decided to "hide" in the closet. They were too cute. Later, they had so much fun swimming in the pool. The girls LOVED the waterfall!
We were so fortunate to have JW's youngest sister and her friend with us to babysit the girls. The adults got to act like kids on the boat all afternoon :)
When we weren't out in the water, we were in the kitchen eating. I made this peach cobbler for dessert Saturday night. I had to use frozen peaches since they weren't quite in season but it was so good! My recipe is from Southern Living and is so simple. The topping is just flour, sugar, egg, and butter.
For five girls, we really didn't have that many tantrums. I think they were having just as much fun as the adults.
Sunday night, all the girls got to enjoy some fresh watermelon before our dinner of burgers and sweet potato fries. A perfect meal to start the summer with!
We had such a great time laughing, playing, and enjoying each other. It was nice to get out of town and spend some quality time with our friends. I hope we get to do it again soon!
Till next time, let your light shine!
