Happy Monday everyone! I hope y'all had a great weekend. Our was busy busy with birthdays, travel, and my first Sunday but it was super fun :) A few weeks ago, Raleigh and I decided to have a date night. These are few and far between these days so I was super pumped to spend some one-on-one time with my husband. We decided to have an "Old Cloverdale" date night and had dinner...

and a movie:

After living in Montgomery for four years, that was our first time going to see a movie at the Capri Theatre. I regret not going more often! The Capri is this theater that has been restored over the years but still feels true to its original glory...squeaky seats and all! It was so much fun to see a classic thriller like Jaws up on the big screen.

Since our date was a planned event, I decided to spend a little extra time making myself pretty (or purrteey if you are reading with a Southern accent!). A fellow NICU mommy, Emily, had come over the other day to give me samples of some of her Mary Kay products. It was a great afternoon getting my skin care on! I LOVED their Microdermabrasion face scrub and lotion...my face felt as soft as my babies! Here we are after I tried out some of their products:

I'm not a big fan of posting pics of myself on the blog (aren't we all our own worst critics?) but today you get a special treat. Drumroll please....here is a picture of me before our date (gulp!):

and here I am after using my new makeup:

Y'all, I might have just been makeup happy, but I really enjoyed using some of my new products. I used this small travel set that includes blush and eyeshadows.

I love how the set could fit inside my purse easily and the colors were very complimentary to my skin tone. I tend to go with a more "natural" look and these eyeshadows were very neutral yet made my eyes pop for a date night. I also tested out the foundation and really liked how smooth it made my skin look without it being too heavy (the last thing I needed was foundation running off my face in this Alabama humidity!). To finish off my "look" I used a lipstick liner and applied the Fancy Nancy lip gloss over it (LOVED it!).

So, not sure if you are looking for any new makeup products, but I thought I would share these with all of you. I was impressed with Mary Kay's slogan because their motto is about faith and family first. Whenever I come across organizations that are supportive of these two things, I like to support them. Emily is a consultant for Mary Kay and would be happy to answer any of your makeup questions. You can e-mail her at eholder at marykay.com. Just tell her that I sent you her way!

Emily also has been gracious enough to offer all of YOU a chance to win some free Mary Kay products.  All you have to do is visit her website: www.marykay.com/eholder and order at least $25 worth of products.  When you order, place "The Uncontainable Truth" in the comments section and she will draw one lucky winner on Friday to get their order for free! (Emily will send you a refund if you win).  It is that easy.  You can also check her out on Facebook.

Anywho, I just love to share great products and places with y'all when I find them. Hope you can enjoy them as much as I do! Have a great day everyone :)

Till next time, let your light shine!

Blessings, christen
