As runners race around a dirt track, they dig deep to make it to the finish line first. Their eyes are fixed on the prize.

Finishing first has been embedded in their minds for longer than four years - it is a goal that each athlete has desired to achieve since their feet began to move. In the blink of an eye, the runners have raced but only one breaks the ribbon at the end. Others finish - second, third, and fourth. Finally, the last athlete reaches the end. Defeat and disappointment are written on their faces. The world watches as they lean over and gasp for air.

Only one has won.

Afterward, the other runners analyze the seconds that changed their lives. If's and But's and Should Have's race through their minds as quickly as their race began and ended. Their lives - their performance - didn't live up to their expectations.

Many of My brothers and sisters suffer like the runner. Goals and dreams are crushed and life doesn't look how they thought it should. Anxiety, frustration, and sadness crash down on their broken hearts like the waves on the beach. You, My child, are one of these. I can feel you gasping for air as your life is jostled with unexpected circumstances.

Allow Me to support your feet and give you strength to push through the changing currents of your life. My hand will pull you back on your feet and My love will support you. I want nothing more than to wrap My arm around your shoulder and console you after your drams have been shattered. Sharing your burdens; I reveal to you the joy of defeat and the hope that can be found in your future.

Only One has won.

Don't dwell in this moment of loss. Accept that life doesn't always turn out the way you planned. I welcome you - the first and the last - to join My team.

Psalm 94:18-19 Till next time, let your light shine!

Blessings, christen
