So a few months ago I decided to drop feeling discouraged, disappointed, and doubtful.

Since then, you know how I've felt?

Free to live life full of hope, encouragement, and love.

It's been awesome.

By nature, I'm an anxious person.  I fret about our house in Montgomery not renting and the baby in my belly being born premature. I have fake conversations in my head (please tell me you do this too!). I wonder if so-and-so is mad at me. I over think God's plans for my life and I let fear tell me I won't have a job, a future, or dreams fulfilled. When my husband travels, I worry if he will make it home safe and sound. I wonder what will happen to me and the girls if he doesn't. When I allow these anxious thoughts, and so many more to enter my mind, I lose track of God's comfort and peace.

Friend, I bet you have some anxious thoughts too.  If you are like me, those thoughts can bring you down to a place of discouragement, disappointment, and doubt.  Life looks dreary. This is not how God intended for us to live.

God wants us to give him whatever makes us heavy. He wants us to live with light hearts and trust that he's strong enough to carry the weight of our worlds. When something is bothering you and me, he gives us the Holy Spirit and Jesus, our counselor and friend, to help us not be anxious or worried or scared.

There is freedom in this sort of living.

Imagine the potential for your day if you took a few moments to give your anxious thoughts to Jesus. Don't you think he is able to make you feel so much better?  When you and I trust that Jesus is our protector, our healer, and our provider there really isn't much to be anxious about. Because Jesus walked among us, he knows what we are dealing with and how to help us overcome our heavy burdens.

When we have hope, we tend to be less doubtful.  An encouraging word lifts us up when we feel discouraged.  And, it's hard to be disappointed when we open ourselves up all the way to accepting love.

This is what it feels like to live a life following Jesus.

Are you ready to let go of all that is holding you back from experiencing his extravagant generosity?

Allow yourself to receive what he wants you to have today: freedom.

Till next time, let your light shine!

Blessings, christen
